Philosophy Of Technology

As I read through my philosophy it became increasingly clear how naïve I was and how much I have learned in just a couple of years. I was full of wishful thinking, of a perfect classroom and an environment that was so inviting classroom problems would be only a myth to me. Obviously that ideal is only a myth. However there was a good concrete foundation of educational philosophy that could easily be built upon. Most importantly my role as a teacher is to provide a secure caring and stimulating environment where the students can grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially.
As a teacher I should act as a connection between my students and desired information. Teachers are not to be a primary source of information but as a tool in the students search for knowledge. Just as the teacher is a tool for education, the incorporation of new technologies should be used as a tool towards knowledge and not as a crutch. When integrating technology into the classroom it should be used as an accompaniment to teaching and a secondary tool towards knowledge, and not used to supplement teaching or an individual’s search for knowledge
